My wife and I are looking for a place to stay on the island arriving Saturday, Sep 4 and leaving Friday, Sep 10. There are lots of cottages, condos, small independent rental properties on the island along with hotels and resorts. I’m looking at trip advisor for reviews but i don’t know how to pay so that I have some kind of protection. If I just rent a hotel or resort i can cancel and pay the fee or have some travelers insurance but most of these places that are privately owned have large deposits upfront. Even the ones w/ lots of good reviews I’m worried if they want cash. I have some protection for services if i pay w/ my amex. With cash it’s buyer beware. Anyone ever rented a condo or rental place for a week? How did you pay? How was your stay? We’re going to kauai. Please no stupid responses.

I constantly get approached to buy a timeshare when on vacation. It seems an intersting concept, but yet I balk at the idea. What are the advantages of owning one?

I have 00 left to pay on my deeded week. I enjoy the resort and especially enjoy the area, but it is a luxury I can no longer afford. I am only looking to pay off the debt. The companies I’ve seen on tv advertising that they will sell for you, want aproximately 0 up front. I don’t have the funds and would like the seller’s commission and closing costs to come from the sale.

Our family is 3 kids: 14, 12 & 10 so we would like to have that option. Does any one know if we can buy it there and how much it is per person. Never been there…

I’ve been considering buying a vacation home in Florida but am still not sure if we hit the bottom yet with pricing. Also, should I consider a condo or home?

I own week #9 at Westgate Vacation Villas, I was wondering if there is a way to rent out the week the years that im not using it and use the money to pay the maintenance fee, I remember something about renting your week out was discussed when i purchased the week from Westgate Resorts

Did you have to pay upfront or at time of sale. I am looking for a good reputable web site. Please help! Thanks, ruby

Does/Has anyone ever owned a Disney Vacation Club Timeshare? It is based on a point system with no blackout dates, 50 yr deed, cost is a little over 20k for 225 pts. We can also use it to travel to many destinations all over the world, including cruises. We enjoy staying at Deluxe Disney Resorts and would also like to travel to Europe or the Caribbean. Is it worth it? Is it difficult to sell in the long run? Please provide me with as much insight as possible.

They state that they have the right of First Refusal??? I am trying to sell my time share at a discount price and i want to have a smooth transition.
