Has anyone stayed at a hotel using a timeshare promotion?
My wife and I were thinking about buying a timeshare and I know that you can get some great deals on rooms for a week if you tour one of the hotels that sells them. I was just wondering if anyone else has traveled like this and can relate their experience with the required tour. I know in the past many people have been victim to the "hard sell". There are several places we want to visit and I do not want to have to deal with "dirty" tactics at the first place.

I bought a timeshare for cheap as well. The secret is really to buy at a home resort which is less exotic like Florida or Nevada. Hawaii will cost a fortune in terms of your maintenance. I have mine with Hilton and am going to Vegas in April. Next year to Hawaii for the cost of 2 nights. Timeshares make more sense from a money saving than a money making point. I would stay at Hilton and request an ownership propsal. I’ve posted the website below.
We joined RCI long ago when time shares were not very well known….we got in with very little and got a great deal..we really didn’t know what we had…things have changed drastically now…Our home resort is the Palace Resorts in Cancun…I exchanged one week for a resort last year in Nuvo Vallarta…suppose to be 5 star…rated the best of the top 5 in Mexico….rack rate/Internet rate….1080.00 per day…using RCI trade I got it for 80.00 a night. We leave Feb 23…
Be very careful…victims of the hard sell float to the surface all the time…we went to several in Mexico…we got thrown out of one in Cabo when we asked for cab fair back to our resort…but we did get one day of marlin fishing on a 32 footer….that was worth it….but….we consider a vacation a vacation….we don’t do that any more…I suggest RCI they are on the net…give it a try it might work for you….sure did work for us…
If you don’t want to deal with the hard sell, then pay your expenses 100%. This people are paying anywhere from $300 to 1000 for you to be sitted in front of them. Believe me, they will squeeze as much as they can.
If you want to buy a timeshare you will find a better deal at EBay without going trough the sales pitch. Most of the time at least 90% cheaper that the developer.
