How do I enjoy a timeshare week vacation without the pressure to buy?
My mom and I were given a week of vacation at a Wyndham resort in Pompano Beach, from a friend who is a timeshare owner there. It’s a gift, and we don’t want to be hassled the whole time to attend seminars or buy a timeshare. Is it considered very rude to blatantly turn down any requests to go to meetings about the timeshare buying, or do most people turn them down all the time? I don’t want to say NO at checkin and have the cruddy treatment all week from the resort. Any tips?!

If they own a timeshare the sales people there may not hassle you, however if they do request you to go to a sales pitch I think it is necessary you attend. Attend and just be firm but polite – say "I am not interested in purchasing and really nothing you can say will change my mind." After that they may not even want to put the pressure on you as there time is valuable too in trying to sell others there. Hope you have fun in Pompano Beach.
Don’t answer the phone in your room. Use your cel phone. Avoid situations where people try to approach you. tell them you are absolutely broke and this is a gift. They will find out as much about you as possible and use it to create an emotional appeal.
