How complicated is it to sell or transfer a timeshare stake to someone?
Need to get rid of it to qualify for a first-time homebuyer program.

It’s not all that complicated to sell or transfer once you’ve fond a sucker to take it off your hands for a price you feel happy with. Time shares are one of the worst investments known to man. Let me guess how you bought yours. You entered some "contest" and "won" and had to sit through this high pressure sales pitch to collect your prize. And then you bought the BS sales job.

Near impossible, since there aren’t that many incompetent, inept, ‘suckers’ around.
First you have to find a sucker willing to take it. You must not have an outstanding mortgage on it then any lawyer can do the paperwork
In the current market, I am sorry but I think you are wasting your time. It is very unlikely that anyone will take over your time share even if you offer it for free. The feesthe buyer will have to pay(maintence etc) are just not worth the hassle.
There are lots of agents out there that promise you different. But you will have to pay up front fees first.
If you want to use one tell them they only get their commission after the sale! Sadly I do not think you will find any agents that will do this.
Hang on and hope for the market to recover. But time share sales were very heavily pushed and I think you are on a lost cause.
However, I hope I am wrong.
Good luck
