Quick easy way to sell timeshare?
I have a timeshare in florida and we never use it and the bill every month is starting to be a nuisance. And every time i call the timeshare place to see what i can do to sell it, they tell me that i should give them more of my money to sell it for me. I was wondering if there’s a cheaper (free would be great) way to sell it since i live in ohio and don’t have the money to go down there personally to try to sell it.

Nope…its a giant ripoff.
The other "gotcha" in the timeshare business is that if you buy upfront from the dealer, you will take a massive loss on the back end. You need to do several exhaustive (free) searches of sites trying to sell timeshares exactly like yours to prepare yourself (craigslist and ebay are okay for a start).
In most cases you will only get pennies on the dollar (esp. now and in FL)…essentially giving them the timeshare in exchange for getting rid of the maintenance fees. Anyone who promises you more and demands money upfront is going to rip you off.

Since you’re trying to sell your timeshare, this may be information you can utilize later on down the road if trying to sell it gets to be too much. (I was in your position 4 years ago.)
I just got rid of my timeshare for good and I can’t believe it, so I am telling anyone I can that there is hope. I had a timeshare at the Palm Beach Shores Resort in S. Florida. I paid over $13,000 for it and started trying to sell it in 2006. With deed in hand, I contacted a rip off company named http://www.vacationregister.com after seeing Ed McMahan on the commercials. They took hundreds of dollars from me with a guarantee of selling it in 6 months! Come 2010-they won’t even return my emails and they’ve changed their phone numbers, but they’re still signing people up to sell their timeshares! Scoundrels! There are plenty of companies that will promise to sell your timeshare for an up-front fee.
Anyhow, I finally got out of my timeshare last month! I didn’t sell it unfortunately-BUT I no longer have maintenance fees either….so technically I’m a winner. I stumbled upon this website when looking for help. It’s called http://www.Money4timeshares.com and I called the number on their website and I spoke with Robbie Pickel. He told me if my timeshare had value that he’d pay me for it.
Answer to your question about selling it: YOUR TIMESHARE MAY BE WORTH MONEY-SO CALL AND ASK HIM HOW MUCH HE WOULD PAY YOU FOR YOUR TIMESHARE.
My timeshare had $0.00 value (which is what every other company told me) so I asked him if he knew how I could get out of it. He told me I could give it away through a "giveaway program" if I paid the closing costs. Five weeks later I received a letter in the mail saying I am no longer a timeshare owner. I thought it was too good to be true, so I called the resort asking about my ownership. Gave them my name and they were asking me to spell it, etc, said they were having trouble finding me-GREATEST FEELING IN THE WORLD! They had no record of me being an owner there. I can not praise Robbie enough for helping me after everything I’ve been through with this horrible timeshare and I contacted tons of companies that wanted thousands of dollars to transfer the stupid thing out of my name. Robbie did it for me for $600. A small fee to be FREE forever! This timeshare would have been passed on to my children, for God’s sake. I hope you get out of your timeshare soon, there is no better feeling.
