Should I pay an up front fee to sell my timeshare?
I AM TRYING TO SELL MY TIMESHARE IN FL, BUT AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, I’VE SEEN SOME TESTIMONIALS ABOUT UP FRONT FEES AS BEING TERRIBLE. SOME WERE ALSO SAYING, STAY AWAY . DO ANYONE KNOW ANY INFO ABOUT SELLING TIMESHARE AND THE PROPER PROCEDURE?

To resale or rent a timeshare is a hard task, the basic rule is not to pay money up-front, don’t be another victim of a scam. There are some free classified adds where you can post it and get some results:

I wouldn’t. Your agent should get a percentage of the selling price after it is sold.
If you have questions about the integrity of the company that you think you may deal with concerning the sale of your timeshare, check your local Better Business Bureau (BBB). they are in your local phone book. Any person that has had a problem with a business, can file a complaint with the BBB, and if that company has any complaints against it, the BBB will let you know "who and what" you are dealing with. Due to the turn down in our economy, things like "timeshares" are almost being given away, to avoid the cost of having something that you cannot afford to use. A lot of the business that offer the service of handling the sale of the timeshare, are "fly by night", meaning, that all they are after is your money. During the period of the company handling the sale, you are most likely still responsible for expenses associated with your timeshare. My recommendation, is to try to hold onto the timeshare, and offer it for more use by others. Maybe, you can even offer it in trade for something else you could use more, like a boat, or maybe even a vacation home in another area. There are some good companys out there, providing valuable services, but there are more rip-off places that will take you for what you’ve got. check out the reputation of who you are planning to deal with.
