Looking for anyone who has had good or bad experiences with the company?
we recently purchased a timeshare at the Westgate Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, NV. I was contacted by Resort Equity Marketing sales rep. to list timeshare for rental. Does anyone have information on other companies that do this, experiences with renting timeshares in general, or any other advice. Thanks in advance for your help!
My mom got talked into purchasing a "discounted vacation" over the phone through a company called Great Vacation Destinations. The trip is a few days in Orlando, FL and then a couple days on a cruise to the Bahamas, followed by a couple more days in Ft Lauderdale. The catch is that you have to go to a timeshare presentation for BlueGreen timeshares. And there are bonus vacations that you can take to Las Vegas and Cancun etc later on.
She now regrets the decision to buy, but has already shelled out a good chunk of money which I don’t think she can get back, so we are going to go check it out. I have heard lots of people’s opinions that all these types of offers are scams, and I would tend to give the same opinion, but is there anyone out there that has actually gone on this vacation with this company and could report on their experiences and/or offer any advice to ensure that the trip is at least a success, even if it’s not the great deal that they sell you on over the phone. Thanks!
My husband and I have a timeshare on Maui. We have the option to exchange at a new resort in Cancun. The flight is half the price to Mexico as it is to Maui. What have your experiences been in Mexico? If we stay at and around the resort, would we be safe? Do you feel traveling to Mexico is safe with children?
Me and my family are hoping to go to Florida over the winter break, and came across a 9 deal at "Calypso Cay Suites" in Orlando, Florida, which is owned by Calypso Cay Resorts and is on the same property. According to the deal, which you can read at http://www.saveonresorts.com/resorts/orlando/amerisuites.asp?promo=GGwdwCCSfloridaCAN&gclid=CMuZ39fy65YCFQazsgodhDx_rQ#, you pay 9 for four days (three nights) at their hotel, get two free adult tickets to Disney World, a buy-one-get-one-free adult ticket pass for "Arabian Nights Dinner Theatre", free shuttle services to theme parks, a free continental breakfast, and a room that apparently sleeps 6. It sounds like a great deal, but I’m wary of the low price. Apparently we’ll have to sit through a 90 minute "sales presentation" on why we should buy timeshares with Calypso Cay Resort, but they say it’s the only catch. If anyone has used this package before and can share their experiences, I’d be very grateful.
My husband and I are going on vacation for our first wedding anniversary, and my parents in law are letting us use there Interval International Timeshare. We can pick anywhere that Interval International offers, but we would like to stay in the States. We were thinking of maybe going to North Carolina or possibly Georgia. We are going in June.
We are not limited to those two states, we are up for any suggestions in any state that Interval International offers…we would love feedback from other Int. intern. resorts people have stayed at.
Anyone ever use any interval Intern. resorts in Florida that are really nice? has anyone ever stayed at Bald Head Island in North Carolina? Typee Island in Georgia? Myrtle Beach? Hilton Head?
Again these are just a few to through out, but would like recommendations for other places if you had good experiences! Thanks so much in advance!!!
I love to travel all the time, and I am looking to make a profit as well. I have student loans to be paid back in the future. Is is possible to make a profit off of timeshare? Can I charge friends to use my property? Can I make a profit if I sell it in the next 5 or 6 years? I was looking to buy a small house or timeshare, but I dont know if I want to stay in a house where I live for years and years. What is a better investment? I do love to travel and renting a house I would have to rent a room out to someone for a profit, which won’t give me privacy. Any advice? Please be detailed and specific with your experiences. Thanks.
I joined global resorts then found ytb.
YTB seems to be an excellent business, but for last minute travel. It concentrates on hotel vacations, has an upfront cost & monthly fee. But I loved their owner’s speech on the travel biz, & their site is excellent.
Global Resorts Network is very new on the net, started dec 06. Its affiliated with a company that has been in business 20 years.. its the marketing arm. It has a onetime fee only, no monthly fees.
Plus their market is different … grn concentrates on luxury travel to 4 & 5 star resorts worldwide (though it covers hotels & does cruises & travel same as YTB)
But you can book in advance with GRN (as well as up to 72 hours before a trip). They encourage you to call them for special arrangements. Their prices are better
GRN owners setup Global Resorts because of timeshare experiences, as owners & sellers.Timeshares have maintenance fees & no travel choice
Which biz do U like?

My aunt is begging us to go up there this winter. But my mom is saying they want us to buy a timeshare or something. Is it true? Can you "sneak" in with an existing member and not sign up for anything? If not, we dont go. Sad, I know. Plus, is it a good place for snowboarding? Do they have snowboard rentals? And what are the prices? And how busy is it ( i dont like empty, i dont like crowded, i like the middle)?
And most of all, is it an awesome place?
tell me experiences, injuries, events, anything.
I want to go damn it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My family just recently bought a Marriott Timeshare in Orlando, Florida. The name of our "home resort" is Marriott’s Grande Vista. I was just wondering how your experiences have been at this location if you’re an owner and have ever visited it.
