I want to give away at least 100 free vacations each month to Las Vegas and another 50 each month to Orlando. This would be part of a timeshare promotion. The guests must meet minimum age and income qualifications and attend a resort tour.
Craigslist will not allow these postings; Kiiji will not allow these postings; ebay requirements are too strict. By too strict, I mean that the reservations are going to vary from hotel to hotel in each vacation destination. Ebay claims this is a violation of their rules since they require each auction/offering to have just one hotel or resort room description per listing. I am not permitted to use "Jockey Club or similar accommodations."
I am willing to invest some money (up to ,000.00) in a broad advertising campaign but what is the best resource? I have tried USA Today (Friday Travel Section classifieds). Out of nationwide coverage, I received 1 booking!
Does anyone here have a real idea that can help me promote these free vacations?
I have a Timeshare membership with Vacation Brokers Int. Inc. (a Toronto based company) and wish to dispose of this, as we have never used it, and probably will not in the future. Basically it was a good idea at the time, but our curcumstances changed within a few weeks of buying this. Since we decided to sell it, practically anyone intersted in selling it for us wants money up front to advertise it on the web.
This bogus company goes by the name of "Cancun Luxury Travel" , or says "Sunny Getaways/Vacations" on your bank statement. I fell for buying a 5 nights all inclusive for 8 & my receipt said the money was going to be paid directly to the "hotel" today. Which is not true at all!! When you call to confirm, you have to pick a hotel, and pay 0 peak season fee, plus another PER Person taxes. You think you are booked, but another lady calls you to start asking you jobs, age and if you’re married and then tries to get you to go on a 90 min timeshare presentation. When you refuse, the 1st company you paid calls you back claiming that you cancelled the trip by refusing the timeshare, when from the beginning they never said ANYTHING about a timeshare presentation or having to be married. They then say you have to basically go on a timeshare presentation or pick a different hotel, which then yet another company calls you "claiming" to work for the hotel, which all seams soooo sketchy and asking for the PER person taxes, so 0. When I said I want to pay the hotel directly when I arrive in Cancun, they say "that’s not how it works" and will not confirm with the hotel until you pay. It’s basically just all a SCAM to get you to pay more money and god knows if the hotel will even have your reservation or a room. After researching the hotel, most ALL the reviews are bad and say that they wont even let you check in until you agree to go on a timeshare presentation & harass you the whole time you are there!
Is there ANYONE ELSE out there who fell for this?? I want to go to the better business bureau and report this company!!!! PLEASE contact me!!!
So my husband and I were some how scammed into purchasing one of these timeshares from Silverleaf. It sounded like a great deal, but come to find out after we had already signed the paperwork that they had told us a bunch of lies.
Lies:
1. We could use the Piney Shores resort anytime.
2. We could use Bonus Time anytime, doesn’t matter that we had purchased a blue/white week. We could use the resort even during the red season. Sun-Thurs would be free, and Friday and Saturday would be .
These are the reasons we purchased. Piney Shores is right off of Lake Conroe, and we love being out on the boat, we thought it would be super fun to be able to gather friends and go out whenever. Later we find out that we can’t stay during the red season, which is the only freaking time we would want to take the boat out. Sure we can go out for the day, but we can’t stay there.
If we just quit paying on the timeshare what is the worst that could happen? Will it hurt our credit that bad?
So later on, to resolve our problems with Silverleaf they conned us into buying another week, which was said to be a red week, and would give us privelege to go anytime we want.
Later find out that in fact we had purchased another blue/white week!!!!! We owe ,000 for both weeks. We pay 0 a month for something we can’t use, so we said to hell with. Closed out bank account so they couldn’t draft the money out anymore, and opened a new one. Well they call everyday several times a day. I tell them they aren’t getting another dime from us. They say if we just quit paying on it for good that is will hurt us, and we will never be able to buy a house.
NEVER BUY A TIMESHARE!
Why should we pay 0 a month for something we will never get to enjoy. We aren’t going to take vacation during the winter time, that’s just dumb!
a friend has a time share for 0 versus disney wilderness resort
the timeshare is 2 bedroom it is nice but 10 minutes from disney
what do you think wilderness is 250 a night appx. so that is 1750 for that
but money is not huge issue
When we were in Puerto Vallarta in Dec 2006 we were coerced into a 6 or 7 Hr. sales ordeal at Mayan Palace where we surrendered a 410 deposit on a 700 Grand Mayan timeshare. Only after we got back home did we discover how severely we had been lied to. We requested cancellation of the contract and our deposit returned…they refused and are asking for more money. There were two websites….mayanresorts .org and mayanresorts.info …that told the truth about the fraud at Mayan but recently they were taken over by Mayan for their own advertising.Anyone have a problem with Mayan ? and has more ideas about fixing this problem of Mayans illegal sales abuses ? or at least helping spread accurate information about them to warn other travelers ?
I have owned some timeshares (UDI points) with Wyndham/Fairfield that I purchased through resale a few years ago. I was recently invited by a sales agent that told me that soon, everybody with resale purchases woud only be allowed to use them for their home resort and not be able to use their points in the other resorts (even though they are Wyndham resorts). In the past, I’ve always been able been able to use them with no problems at all Wyndham/Fairfield resorts, so I am wondering if this is a scam to get me to puchase more points directly from them (because this is what the agent is trying to get me to do). Does anyone know if this is true or are they just talking me into throwing them some money? After all, aren’t points just points?
By the way, the agent also told me that he would help me cover my maintenance fees by taking some of my points and helping me use them to rent out properties? Yet this seems like something in the gray area and on the side (since there really is no contract stating this commitment nor how much is guaranteed that I will get back), this appears sort of shaky. Is this legal and has anyone experienced this before?
I have used Timeshares Only and Copeland Marketing to sell my timeshare and both charged me alot of money to put it on the market and never sold it for us.With Timeshares only I went to look up my timeshare to see how it was being advertised after a year of having it for sell and couldn’t even find it on their web site.Called customer service to find out where it was being advertised and they didn’t even know. Then Copeland Marketing in Florida said they would sell it for us quick, that it would be a piece of cake and that was 8 months ago.Timeshares only charged us 0.00 and Copeland Marketing charged us 0.00 to sell our timeshare for us.Neither of which ever did anything for us after we paid them the deposits.Oh and eventhough they said our deposits were refundable upon selling our timeshare it turns out their not.We really need to selll our timeshare is there any company that does this that is legitimate?
They have called me and said they have a buyer, but they need me to send them money to make sure I will not back out of selling it. They did say the money would be refunded when the sale was completed. Should I trust this company?
I have called several co and they want money up front
