So here is the thing, Im getting married on May 29, 2010. I have a co-worker who owns a time share and is willing to give me her bonus week to use in cancun. Which does not cover airfare, food and drinks… Only the stay. We are planing to stay at Sun Palace Resort which is all inclusive, but what does that mean? Since the time share only covers for the stay will the all inclusive would still apply to us? is that an additional charge for all inclusive? I really don’t know how these time share works… a little help clarifying this please???

hi all
hope all us well

i got a time share at the mystic dunes golf resort club is orlando.. its FAB. i tried to make a reservation for march and they told me i had to pay almost a grand in maintenance and tax fees 30 days prior to arrival

WHAT!!

maybe i was dead and burned out from the long presentation but i dont recall me having to pay this if im already paying a monthly fee. i dont own a condo or co-cop at home in ny so this is all new to me with the maintenance and taxes.

any info would be great

have a good one

I would like to rent a condo, apartment or time share over the summer, so I need a good, reliable recommendation for where to start looking online. This will be out of State, and I am (of course) a little apprehensive about sending someone I’ve never met a few hundred dollars. Should I just go see a travel agent or do you know of a site with honest people??

We bought a time share on star island!

my partner and i were thinking of buying a time share. can you tell me something about them thanks all

I’m asking this because I hear alot of people that these things are a scam.

Thing is that my parents bought one, however it’s not a time share where you’re stuck in one location. You get x amount of day (i think now it’s changed to a point system) and you can choose to spend time in any of the resorts they have around the world.

My parents bought it with the sole purpose so that we could travel and go on vacation (they didn’t do it as an investment)

now I’m scared that people are saying is bad and stuff. I hope my folks didn’t make a big mistake.
i’m not sure how it works

the only thing i know is that my dad pays some money every other year (idk if that’s for maintenance or
the timeshare)

but yeah i guess my parents’ purpose was so that we could travel to differen places every year.

I’m going to Miami from 5/24-5/28. I don’t have to worry about hotel(we have time share & it’s paid for) Nor do I have the worries of a rental that is also paid for. I won’t have kids or hubby with me; it’s strictly a girls get away. I’m not looking to do alot of tourist events; I really just want to have a good time, hit a few bars, maybe get a massage & party a lil. The timeshare condo has a full kitchen; I don’t care to cook while on vacation; but perhaps grab a few snacks, bagels, juice & things like that to prevent from buying too much stuff. I’m really savvy when it comes to spending…how much do you think I’ll need for spending?
I won’t be in Miami all day on the 28th; our flight leaves pretty early. So technically I won’t be doing anthing on the last day; but just prepping to return home.

a friend has a time share for 0 versus disney wilderness resort

the timeshare is 2 bedroom it is nice but 10 minutes from disney

what do you think wilderness is 250 a night appx. so that is 1750 for that

but money is not huge issue

How do you do it?
Seems to be a lot of people wanting to sell timeshares.
Do these people rent them out on the cheap through an agency?
I would never buy one – of course.
Just want a cheap vacation on the beach somewhere in Florida for a couple of weeks.

Since time share owners are desperate to sell, is doing something like this a good idea?
Or do time share laws prevent the owners from renting them out?

There are so many places on the web and I don’t know who to trust! Have you sold your time share? If so, who would you recommend? Thanks!
