Does getting people to visit a timeshare resort while they are on their vacation, pay off the books?
Everytime I go to Orlando, there are people behind these booths in stores encouraging me to go to a 90 minute timeshare presention. They offer you free tickets to the theme parks, or 0 cash or 0 on a credit card, which they call (GIFTS).. You have to give them , as a deposit which will be returned to you along with your gift, after you take your tour..
Do the people who take your and make your appointment with the resort, get to keep that money, and is that off the books?

In most cases they pocket the $20 but not off the books.
The way it works is as follows:
Resorts pay $x less cost of gift less deposit.
Say they pay $200 per tour and you give 2 free tickets($150 cost).
That leaves $50 – $20 deposit.
The $30 is paid out about a week later.
They receive either W2 or 1099.
Yes it does pay off. It is time consuming, and can be high pressured to buy and must stay through the whole presentation, but at one we went to in cabo we got 300 dollars cash, a free fishing trip, free meal, free massage,we could have chose atv tour, ect.
No, that job doesn’t pay off the books..You get paid with a check & you get a percentage of what’s letf over..It’s not much but if youre bored it’s a good thing to do…
