has anyone been contacted by Royal Resort Int in Sevierville, TN asking to obtain your timeshare?
I was contacted by Royal Resort Int wanting me to come there and talk with them about my timeshare. Does anyone know if this is legit?

This looks like it might be that they will take your timeshare for almost nothing as a downpayment plus you pay them additional cost to join their club. It could be legit but not worth it. Don’t do it. I have also heard deals like this where your timeshare never gets transferred out of your name and you are still paying m/fs.
I couldn’t find much on Royal Resorts International. They do not have a BBB rating and the number of reviews are small.
In the past, there have been deals where timeshare resorts or vacation clubs have offered timeshare owners (who own either of the same brand or not) to "upgrade" from their timeshare to one of theirs. Essentially, the deal resembles a trade-in. What sometimes happens though, after the deal for the new timeshare is made, the salesperson offers the timeshare owner the opportunity to "buy back" their original timeshare are a nominal fee like a dollar. Feeling like it’s a deal, some timeshare owners take it back leaving them with two timeshares, two maintenance fees and potentially more financial burden to carry in the future.
If you go to the presentation, make sure that you read everything and be given a chance to take the offer with you if you intend to seriously look at it. Otherwise, just say no.
