The answer is ‘yes you should’. As a villa owner I can tell you many stories of the type of things some guests do to our homes that we are very proud of and spend a lot of money making it a ‘home from home’. The security deposit should be totally refundable if no damage occurs.
In the 10 years our management company have looked after our homes, they tell me they have only once had to use someones security deposit to cover damage costs. Of course, accidents can happen, but most holiday makers are very honest and glass broken etc can easily be replaced without having to use the security deposit.
