Where should I buy a vacation condo in FL (what city do you like the most and why)?
I’m thinking of buying a condo in Florida, but I’m still deciding where to buy it. I want to buy it in a family friendly town with low crime rates (we have two small kids). Any suggestions from locals living in Florida?
P.S. The town doesn’t have to be on a beach, but I want to commute no more than 20 minutes in order to get to a beach.

I have stayed in Vacation Villas condos, in Kissimmee, which isn’t very far from Disney World, it’s about a 15 min drive. The condos are very clean and it’s almost like you’re in a home. There is also a big pool, sport courts, a gym, etc.
We have gone there every time we have gone to Disney World (although are next trip we’re staying on Disney Property) and our time there has been very fun. But I’m not really sure about the beach thing. Hope this helped?
Why buy? You can rent from allstar vacation homes or become a DVC member. less expensive more perks.
Ok, don’t get a condo near disney. that guy is nuts. You will regret the traffic every time you leave home if you live near orlando not to mention orlando has the 2nd highest crime rate in the country. Here are a few beautiful places, most on the beach but well worth the cost.
Sanibel island
Siesta Key
Annamaria island
Port Richey
Cocoa beach
Sarasota (nearly 10 different beaches and neighboring towns, all wonderful)
Merritt island
Bradenton
Clearwater
Hernando or Citrus county…Homassassa, crystal river, both of these have a small town feel where evrybody knows everybody and people still wave as they pass by. There are both natural springs and beaches within minutes and its a lot more affordable here than somewhere big like Tampa, Daytona or something, My mom just moved to Homassassa and LOVES IT!)
I live in west central florida, about 45 minutes from Tampa in a very rural town. the beaches i have mentioned are my families favorites and I have to say, Homassassa, crystal river, or Sarasota would be the best bet. I was born and bred in Sarasota/Siesta Key are and miss it every day. Think: sand as white and fine as flour, seriously, and water the color of the carribean. I am homesick now!
